Do you remember... by hibbary Do you remember... by hibbary
how we danced together?

Alone in a snowstorm, a wolf is visited by the visage of his deceased wife. He is overjoyed and doesn't stop to wonder--Is she a spirit, a demon, a messenger, or a portend of death?

Please attempt to conceive that a wolf and a white wolf can appear in the same picture without being related to Balto. :P Approach the picture as it is.

I know this pic is old, but I recently found it again in my favorites and was reminded of WHY it is in my favorites. Simply gorgeous work here.

I think part of why you're having people think its a Balto picture is you used a wolf with the same coloration as Balto as opposed to say a black wolf or more tawny rather than brown, and a snowstorm setting with the white wolf, when the scene of Balto and the White Wolf is so very iconic.

The picture is beautiful and works beautifully as a compositional work, but again, the color choice and setting are incredibly similar to Universal's choices for that scene.

The white wolf seems like the wind, or made of snow...or made of the snow the wind lifted...!
The blue gives the picture a very cold felling, and the brown of the other wolf makes him really stand up!
This is just my opinion, but I think the eyes of the white wolf should be a little more faded...?
I like the blue on the brown wolf's furr, it seems like little pieces of snow...
By the way...the brown wolf's furr is really fluffy, how did you do it?

(sorry by the long comment...)

I adore this image! So often I see people attempt the spirit wolf thing and not quite pull it off. But this one is beautiful! You really feel like she's a ghost. I also like how you (maybe unintentionally even) created a composition reminiscent of a yin yang, which adds another layer to the living/dead, male/female aspect. If it wasn't intentional, then maybe I'm just reading too much into it. lol.

Either way, amazing flow to the composition, beautiful attention to the detail in the wolves, and fantastic concept! Love love love it!!! :D
