I would have gone lighter on Legolas but I always imagined him corn wheat blonde not the platinum blonde they make him out to be in the movie. And the same for Gimli's hair color. I imaged him as a rich red not the brown (though it did have red highlights!) that was in the movie.
as for their casual clothing I saw Leggie in colors of greens and blues (natureish), while gimli I saw colors of the metals and gemstones a dwarf would work with. Reason for his gemstone shirt and the bronze and copper hued leather vest.
