Oh, oops. Sorry, I'm a goofball. I guess I just remembered seeing these before I saw the Hobbit and for some reason I thought these were around for a long time before the movie. I don't know, time is weird.
So I saw the first panel before I read the artist's comments and thought Thranduil was mourning Legolas' death or something. O.o Then the rest loaded, and I laughed so loud I scared the dog. Then I saw the cheek-squish and awwww'd... and then I hit the last panel and started laughing again. Excellent work, as always! Please draw more of these whenever you can; I am loving your LOTR comics!
Minor quibble: I think the Elvish word for "father" is actually ada, but I could be wrong or it could be a dialect thing. Still an incredibly fun comic!
One might be Sindarin and the other Quenya. The wood elves and Legolas's family would use Sindarin (according to the internet). But honestly, I don't know that much about it. Just what I come across browsing around. So if anyone out there is an elvish master, let me know ha ha.
Yeah, these goofy little comics already stretch canon so much it doesn't really matter but it'd still be interesting to know. I'll ask my friend.
