A dragon whose horns grow with age

hour-hour and a half in PS. Another one of my doodles (to me a doodle is something you just make without any kind of planning or idea. So, ok, it's not a sketch, but it was doodled out in the same way :P

"Doodle" :sarcasm: revamp

Sure it is. That looks more like a week of painting worthy in that picture. It's amazing how you've done that.

If I could 'doodle' like this I'd be in paradise.  As it is my doodles are still your basic flimsy sketches.  :{

Well this is fantastic, the lighting is spot on, though the horns could cast a bit more of their own complex shadow in the lower neck if you were up for a challenge that is, or perhaps a secondary colour.  But over all it's great the way it is, outstanding work.

Maybe next time :>   I had already done 12-13 hours of website and commission work so I was ready to be stupendously lazy ha ha.

I've been meaning to ask. What do you use for dragon references? I have a (sorta) little pet dragon in one of my fantasy stories that I would love to scribble out but I haven't found any good references (or ones that I like).

This is good but all your images are good :)

I'm afraid I don't. All of my dragons are from my noodle. I think I gathered dragon-drawing powers drawing a variety of different animals and sticking them together in my head.

You've always been good at drawing dragons (I think that's what drew me to you that and your realistic Pokémon) so I didn't know if you had references or what. I wish I had your vision though ^^

It just takes practice, really. And I've been lazy about studying so if you worked really hard you could get better at it than me in a couple of years

^^ I seriously doubt that. I really want to draw more than I have been but my resources (and space) are limited. I honestly don't think I could surpass you in terms of skill though...

All you need is a cheap pen/pencil and some printer or notebook paper. If you have space to sleep, eat, or browse the internet, you have space to draw. Ya just gotta do it. I promise you could be a better artist than me. I've been a slacker.

I do have a sketchbook somewhere but still, I seriously doubt I could get a thousand favorites like you. Also I get discouraged easily and I seem to be able to write down ideas better than I can draw them. I really wish I could turn bring some of my concepts to a visual life but I just can't seem to do it...

To me, doodling is what you do in the margins of your notebook during a boring lecture.

This is amazing.

I could totally do this during a lecture if my notebook was a notebook computer.
