Using my textures in Photoshop: a basic tutorial by hibbary Using my textures in Photoshop: a basic tutorial by hibbary
Most people are probably going to know this stuff but I thought I'd do it for those who haven't lived half their lives in Photoshop like I have.

The info is incomplete, but includes the functions that I tend to use most when noodling around in Photoshop with textures.

P.S.

tutorials for making your own paper textures:

Here are some of the textures I've uploaded:

For a long time it was art Khimeros couldn't use so I stuck it in the tutorial. :D  Later Onyx found a place for it.

The last few thumbs aren't showing up.

Great tutorial, I love the triple layers effect with overlay+difference+hue. I usually only go one layered rather than add more. Or use the same effect (I like overlay a lot). I'll definitely be mix and matching more.

Yeah I noticed that. And I can't imagine what's wrong. I copied them directly out of the deviation's thumb link. Very curious O.o;;

It's the qty. there's a limit of 5-6 on a deviation description. Any after that it just shows the thumb codes.

Ah, this is very helpful! I don't do a lot of digital art these days, but I will be sure to keep this in mind (and some of it will be helpful for altering traditional art too). I didn't know about the spot healing tool, that's so useful!

If you have really big areas that you want to fix try using the clone stamp tool. It takes a bit of practice not to have patterns repeat too much, but it can be very handy.

For the longest time, neither did I. I'd cut and paste part of the paper over the dot and meticulously soft-brush erase around it so that it fit. Ha ha.
