There are many elements to an animated series. To name a few: character design, animation, plot, story world, the characters, storytelling, etc. All contribute to the quality of the show and all can range from excellent to absolute trash. There a few of these elements of Inu Yasha I really dislike, which I won't get into, and parts I do like, including all the old Japanese myths. But one of the things that bothers me intensely is how friggin ugly Sesshomaru is in his demon form. For some reason extreme power in non-human animals seems to be synonymous with a hideous appearance. For once I'd like to see some wicked, powerful beast that's got grace and attractive anatomy. So, at the risk of angering some great Inu Yasha deity (or a lot of demented fans), I've revamped him to something more my liking. I wasn't horribley interested in getting every little last detail and marking, although I think I have most of them. In any case, if I did get some little thing wrong I care about this much (pretend there's a little ass icon mooning you)
The sketch I worked off of is in my scrap here --> [link]
Wow! This is AWESOME!!! I totally agree with on the whole "why did they make his dog form so ugly" bit. In the newest season (still in Japanese) they even show his mom and she is a fairly good looking dog. I love how you depict him.
I've always loved this pic; it's about time I faved it! It is exactly how I always felt Sesshoumaru's dog form should be; powerful and majestic and deadly (without being quite so..snarly).
I also a fan of Inu yasha and you're right
the animal form is way better like this^^
