I know that I'm a slippery fish to get ahold of.  Work day in and day out, and I'm bad about responding to comments and sometimes even notes.  So I'm making a journal in which I will reply to every initial comment.  No shirking :D   Art technique questions are some of my favorites, as I get to spread around art love, but any question or comment is welcome.

Sorry, this one's rather late for this journal. If you don't get to this in a while (or ever) its fine. I simply wanted to ask a question without bothering you.

Off the top of your head, could you think of some refrences or exersies you found paticularly useful while learning to draw raptors? You draw the best raptors I've seen on the web. I'm trying to learn to draw them with the amount of personality as you do and any advice I could get would be really helpful.

Thanks for reading. :)

Actually, I'm curious if you could give me some advice... :please::worship:

This coming summer, a friend and I are planning to get our first booths at a convention, but are a little nervous. I've been 'watching' you for a long time now on here,(:D) and you seem to have had alot of experience with such events; Are there any big do's and don't's we should keep in mind? Suggestions? Tips?

We're also debating on quick commissions there as well. Any advice you can give would be really appreciated!:dance:

I'm not sure if you're still going to scan through these comments but I just wanted to say hello. I have one question for you but it's not related. Is it hard being popular? And how do you cope with all the messages you get?

Yes, I am :3 I have a few that I still need to answer to. I've just been so very busy :(

I'm not so sure. That is, I don't pay too much attention to my popularity. What's important to me is making artwork. I imagine there are some nasty things said behind my back but I'm thankfully oblivious of that until someone draws my attention to it. I'd rather be working.

Ah... as for the messages, I read them all. But I can't respond to them all. Which causes some friction amongst people who don't realize that artists have lives. That can't be helped, though. I wish I could answer them all. I used to when I got only a few.

I agree about working on art being more important than your social status. A lot of close minded people tend to think popularity automatically means the artist is an arrogant and rude person.

Those are the people that need to learn how to tolerate and understand other people. So, I can imagine it's a nightmare receiving so many messages and having to read them all, haha.

Man, I wish I had something to talk about but I really don't. I'm just kind of worried about something that happened in school and college. Did you go to an art school or another type of college?

Hello! Hope you are still taking questions! What is your favorite art book? What do you find is your biggest inspiration for your art? :D

I am :3 My favorite art book? EEehhhmmm... hmmmmm, I have no idea :D I imagine I haven't found it yet. There are soooo many great ones out there, though. Perhaps I couldn't pick a favorite!

Inspiration hits me at odd times and in odd circumstances. Probably my answer should be brain chemicals. Some days I feel a rush of inspiration. Some days I don't. It isn't particularly dependent on one thing or another. But I generally feel better and feel more productive and inspired after I've gotten some exercise out of doors. It helps stir up the brain chemicals.

I know it's been about a week since you posted this, but I think I've finally come up with a question :)

Do you use a tablet for digital work? If so do you have any advice about what kinds are better than other?

Kind of a wierd question I think ^^'

I do use a tablet, yes :3 I've tried using a mouse but the product looks like the work of a retarded monkey. I don't know HOW some artists make amazing work with a mouse. Probably they are very slow and meticulous. I am not.

All the Wacom tablets are good. I believe in general Intuos is considered the best. 4 is out now. I have a little Intuos 3. I used to use Graphire and that served me pretty well.
